McLean is located in Fairfax County, Virginia, nestled on the banks of the Potomac River. Not too far from Washington, DC, McLean is known for being home to many diplomats, members of Congress, members of the military, and other high-ranking government officials. The charming town is often distinguished by its luxury homes and shopping destinations.
This well established community has plenty of home styles to choose from, including ranch, colonial, and contemporary, as well as available apartments and condos. McLean is also known as one of the wealthiest cities in the United States. Historically, McLean is named after the former owner and publisher of The Washington Post, John Roll McLean. The community formed in 1910 when Langley and Lewinsville merged.
